Always be teachable

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. – John 14:26 KJV

~ How do we keep ourselves teachable? We must approach the word of God with an open heart. Let your eyes and ears be open to hear or see what God wants to share with you in His word. Sometimes because we already have a “relationship” with Him we think we already “know” Him and there isn’t anything new to learn. That is one of the biggest hindrances that can keep the body of Christ from going deeper in the knowledge of our Lord. Especially people who have grown up hearing the word.

God’s simplicity can easily be overlooked. We want new “fresh” revelations to share with people because we may want to keep the people interested so they don’t get bored hearing the same thing again.

In my own experience, there were so many times when I ministered healing to people and they would finish the scripture for me. Because they had heard it many times, they knew where to find it in the bible (the address) but they couldn’t understand why they still weren’t well.

Sometimes we are just listening with our brains. We need to listen and receive the living word with our heart. Simple. If we keep ourselves humble we can hear it. That is how we remain teachable. God’s simplicity can amaze us. Stay connected but with an open heart to hear!
