An Audience With The King

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.  ~ Psalm 100:4 KJV

Are you a person who is constantly thanking God? Do you praise the Lord daily? These are two of the sacrifices we can make which really aren’t difficult to do when you really observe how good he is to us.

I want to take you on a short journey to a different time. Imagine you are in the times when knights rode on powerful horses and kings ruled the earth. There was a castle surrounded by a fortress and you could only see the King for certain matters. How could you enter his court so you could discuss your important matters with him? If we pay attention to what this scripture is saying we could enter his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. We could start by saying, “how wise and strong is my Lord who protects his people. You have been favored by God to sit on this throne and we give you glory.” You can guarantee you have earned the King’s ear with those words. He deserves honor, glory and praise. He is worthy of it.

Now once you have entered the gates and passed the courts, you are in his presence. You can now mention your issues or matters and listen to his wise counsel in return. Once you are finished speaking you can thank him for the time he took away from his day to sit and listen to you. And finally when you are ready to leave you can bless his name. It’s pretty simple isn’t it?

For an earthly king we can ask for the Lord’s audience when we say these simple words. For our heavenly King, you must always remember you are special to Him. He wants to hear from you and waits in anticipation for you to speak to him about anything. Think of how much you bless him when you say, Lord, my loving King and friend; I would like to speak to you. That would definitely bless Him! When you just stopped whatever you are doing and tell Him you are thinking of Him. Wow! He will be so blessed! Do it to day and watch how he returns his warmth and love to you.
