Bless those that curse you

But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; – Matthew 5:44 KJV

~ Did you know that some translations leave out the part about blessing those that curse you and do good to them that hate you? That’s correct, it was left out. How could we truly love with an unconditional love like our Heavenly Father if we didn’t do good to those people too? It may be a hard thing to do but there is a reward attached to it if you are willing to sacrifice.

I have heard several testimonies of people who treated some one with love regardless of how they were treated and they won them to the Lord. Here’s one – A boss mistreated his employee. Cursed at him daily and yelled at him and the employee would always be kind. Until one day the boss said “why are you so nice to me?” The perfect opportunity arose for him to say “because God loves you and so do I.” So the boss decided to go with him and “check out” this church he always invited him to go to. There was an altar call and his heart was touched to accept Jesus. Praise the Lord! Amazing what God’s kind of love can do.

If you are willing to sacrifice for love there is a great reward. You don’t even have to look for those opportunities. They come to you! Be strong and seek God’s strength to love and He will gladly give it to you.
