He Shall Hear My Voice

Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. ~ Psalms 55:17 KJV

Do you know if God hears your voice? In the scripture above, the psalmist David was living under the Old Covenant. There is a difference between the Old and the New Covenant but it comes from the same God. The first covenant was made to the people of Israel and there was the Law of Moses that needed to be followed. The New Covenant was made for everyone who believes in the Son of God as their savior. One required faith towards the coming Messiah and the second required and still requires faith after the Messiah came. God loves you and He is always attentive to His children. God does indeed hear your voice. He never sleeps and He doesn’t need to rest. So whatever hour of the day it is He will hear you.

There was an instance in the Old Testament that talks about Daniel praying to God and it says he answered him immediately.

Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. ~ Daniel 9:21 KJV

At the beginning of thy supplication the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. ~ Daniel 9:23 KJV

The Lord loved Daniel. It says that he was greatly loved and dear to his heart. He gave him a detailed prophecy in a vision and the angel Gabriel delivered a message to him personally to give him skill and understanding about the vision.

In the New Testament it says that we should have confidence that he hears us.

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that , if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: (15) And if we know the he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. ~ 1 John 5:14-15 KJV

When we pray we need to have confidence that he hears us. We still need to have faith when we pray but he has always heard our voices since before Jesus came. So when you pray rest and believe that he hears you. Your answer is coming! Be patient and trust in him. When you pray according to his will you will always get an answer. He is faithful!
