Obedience

And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22

~ What has God told you to do lately? Hearing God’s voice and obeying what He says is better than anything.

I remember the first time I heard God’s voice so clearly. At first, I didn’t realize it was Him. He told me to “write that song” but I had something I wanted to do for Him first. By the third time I heard His voice in my heart I started asking myself, “why am I fighting with myself to do something I want to do?” I quickly remembered from the Word that God gives 2-3 witnesses. I realized The Lord was telling me to do something right now! I put my bible down, pulled out a blank piece of paper I had stuck in my bible who knows when, and I sat down to write “that song” He was commanding me to do. I remember thinking how do I start I need some help! I began to hear a tune in my heart. The words started to flow on the paper. In about 20 mins or so I had written a whole page. I gave the song a title – “Fill Me and Heal Me”. I was so excited I was able to write it!

A week later I was invited to go to a service to see miracles. I had never seen a miracle but I definitely went with the intent to see one. During that service which was at a different church, 20 mins away, I was healed after 12 years of back pain. I was made whole! I felt like a new person. It was amazing!

About 3 days later, I was being attacked in the same area. I had such unbelief and I couldn’t believe I was healed. It literally felt like someone was stabbing me in the back. But I would sing the words to the song and it was as if a blanket of warmth covered me and I was fine again.

Sometimes God tells us to do something and we have no idea why that moment is so important but if we just obey we eventually find out. God knew I would have unbelief but through His love for seeing me healed He prepared a plan to help me overcome.

So today I ask you: Have you done what He told you to do?
